Wine At The Mussel Inn

All of our wines come from our trusted and local wine supplier, Regency Wines.

White wines 

Sauvignon Blanc, Rio Roca. Central Valley, Chile. Crisp and dry with fresh, floral flavours of elderflower, peach and gooseberry.

Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Percheron, Swartland, South Africa. Vibrant and aromatic showing ripe, fleshy, freshly cut stone fruits.

Sauvignon Blanc 'Cellar Selection', Sileni, Marlborough, New Zealand. A succulently fruity Marlborough Sauvignon showing gooseberry, passion fruit, fresh peaches and lime with grassy undertones.

Chardonnay, Bellefontaine, Pays d'Oc, France.
Beautifully fresh and summery, with ripe flavours of lemon, peach, apricot and pear but with a soft, nutty fullness on the finish.

Chablis, Domaine la Motte, Chablis, France.
Powerful, elegant and mineralic with scents of wild spice, lemongrass and fresh mint. Citrus zest dominates the palate.

Pinot Grigio, San Giorgio (V), Veneto, Italy.
A stylish Pinot, laden with orchard fruit, fresh orange and lime.

Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie, Domaine de la Combe (V, Loire Valley, France.
Smooth and creamy with fresh lemon, pear, green apple, a little aniseed and some yeasty lees notes.

Picpoul de Pinet, 'Duc de Morny', L'Ormarine (V), Languedoc-Roussilon, France.
An ideal partner to shellfish aka the ‘Chablis of the South’. Bone dry yet bursting with citrus fruit, white blossom and melon.

red wines

Merlot, Peregrino (V), Central Valley, Chile.
Classic Chilean Merlot; fruit-driven, super soft and easy drinking with flavours of plum, blackberry and sandalwood on the finish

Primitivo, Bella Modella (V), Puglia, Italy.
A very intense ruby red wine, the taste is full and round thanks to the sweet tannins; it has hints of fruit compote.

 

Shiraz, Dry River (V), South East, Australia.
Classic Aussie Shiraz with ripe plum, black cherry and sweet spice. A touch of eucalyptus adds to the complexity.

 

Organic Rioja Tinto, deAlto 'Gatito Loco' (V), Rioja, Spain.
A young style of Rioja. A lovely mix of red and black fruits with a warm spice and sweet vanilla finish

 

Malbec, Pablo Cortez, Mendoza, Argentina.
Vibrant flavours of berries, plum marmalade and cherries.
An intense, medium-bodied wine with soft tannins and a persistent finish.

 

Costières de Nîmes Rouge, Château L’Ermitage ‘Auzan’ (V), Costières de Nîmes, France.
Dark, peppery and full-bodied; red fruit and liquorice underpinned by chalky tannins.

Rosé

Zinfandel Blush, Pink Orchid, California, USA.
For those who like their wine on the sweeter side. Candied, over-ripe strawberry and watermelon flavours.

 

Quinta do Conde 'Quinta Vista' Rosé, Vinho Lisboa, Portugal.
Crisp, clean and refreshingly dry but with candied strawberry and cherry fruit lifting the palate.

 

Organic Côtes de Provence Rosé, Hecht & Bannier, Côtes de Provence, France. 
A classy rosé of immense charm; plump, medium bodied and marked by crisp grapefruit and passion fruit. Zippy and refreshing
